Rare Tracks
by the Lemon Pipers

Here I have assembled together all known mono versions, single A-sides, single B-sides, non-album cuts, edits, remixes, etc, that were not included on the original albums by the Lemon Pipers and the related band Ram Jam. Of course it is possible I have overlooked something, in which case I would love to hear from you.

Here are the songs, with a short explanation

1.  Quiet Please: The A-side ot their first single, initially on the Dana-Lynn label and later on the Carol label. The Carol version is featured here.

2.  Monaural 78: The B-side of their first single, but only found on the Carol label version. The Dana Lynn record has the A-side song three times!

3.  Turn Around And Take A Look: The A-side of their first single on the Buddah label, here featured in mono. The stereo version can be found on the first LP and CD.

4.  Danger: The B-side of their first single on the Buddah label, and a non-album cut. No stereo version has been found. The single version includes an extra acoustic guitar intro not found on compilation CD's.

5.  Green Tambourine: The mono A-side single mix of their most famous hit. Nearly all compilation CD's feature the stereo version from their first album. This mono version has a very different mix.

6.  No Help From Me: The B-side of Green Tambourine, a non-album track only known in mono. Superb guitar work from Bill Bartlett.

7.  We Can Be Together: Only found on a UK Buddah label compilation album. The composition and arrangement strongly resemble Green Tambourine so it may have been a proposed follow-up or alternative choice. No stereo version is known.

8.  Rice Is Nice: Mono mix A-side of the Buddah 45. Presented here, however, is the track from the rare mono version of the Green Tambourine LP which has the same mix as the 45, but better sound. Their first album has the stereo version.

9.  Blueberry Blue: Mono mix B-side of the Rice Is Nice Buddah 45. Same source as Rice Is Nice. Their first album has the stereo version.

10. Jelly Jungle: Mono mix A-side of the Buddah 45. Their second album has the stereo version.

11. Shoeshine Boy: Mono mix B-side of the Jelly Jungle Buddah 45. Their first album has the stereo version.

12. Wine And Violet: Mono mix A-side of the Buddah 45. Their second album has the stereo version.

13. Lonely Atmosphere: Mono mix B-side of the Wine And Violet Buddah 45. Their second album has the stereo version. This song is also known as "Mirrors" on some album sleeves.

14. Black Betty Long Version: This is the very rare longest version by Truckstar before it was edited as a Ram Jam release

15. I Should Have Known: The B-side of Black Betty (all versions) and on the Golden Classics compilation CD.

16. Tamborin Verde: Mono mix of very rare Mexican 45 of Green Tambourine, sung in the Spanish language

17: Termine Contigo: The B-side of Tamborin Verde, with the psychedelic guitar solo from Through With You

18. Black Betty Single Version: This is the much edited single version

19. Black Betty Remix: This is the disco remix. Supposedly an even longer 12" mix exists, but is not included here.
